Your own columns
Columns are the project’s sections: name them after your workflow — Brief, Draft, Client review, Published.
Online Kanban board
A Kanban board puts work in columns by status — To do, In progress, In review, Done — and shows everyone where things get stuck. In Omega Work the board is one of the project’s views: cards drag across, rules do the rest, and the same tasks can be read as a list, a timeline and a calendar.
How it works
Columns are the project’s sections: name them after your workflow — Brief, Draft, Client review, Published.
Assignee, due date, priority, subtasks, files and comments inside the card. No details lost in chat.
Whoever is mentioned knows about it, and finds everything in an inbox they can clear instead of an email chain.
A card can ask for approval: approve, request changes or reject, with the reason written down.
A link to share: every request arrives as a card in the first column, already filled in.
In the browser on any phone, installable on the home screen, with notifications when you’re assigned something.
Rules
Automation rules take out the steps people forget. A few examples you can set up in a minute, without writing code:
The method behind it — limit work in progress, finish before you start something new — works best when the board shows the real state of the work, and rules keep it that way.
Which view, for what
| The work is… | The view that helps | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A steady flow of requests (content, tickets, design) | Kanban board | You see where work piles up, and limit how much is in progress at once |
| A long list to write down and sort | List | Quick to type, reorder by dragging, fields in columns |
| A project with a delivery date and phases that wait on each other | Timeline (Gantt) | Dependencies tell you what slips if a phase runs late |
| Due dates spread across lots of people | Calendar and workload | You see busy weeks and who is over capacity |
In Omega Work you don’t choose once and for all: they’re views of the same project, and everyone opens the one they need.
Beyond the board
A board tells you where everything is, not whether you’ll make the deadline. That’s why the same cards are also bars on the timeline with dependencies, days on the calendar and rows in the list; the workload view shows who has too many cards this week, and the portfolio shows where every project for a client stands.
All included in the price: £19 a month for up to 5 people, £35 for up to 15, excluding tax. Coming from Trello? See how to bring a board across.
Questions
It’s a board divided into columns that represent the stages of work — for example To do, In progress, In review, Done — where each task is a card that moves from left to right. It shows where work gets stuck and helps limit how many things are in progress at once.
Omega Work is project management software with a Kanban board, list, timeline (Gantt), calendar, dashboards and automation rules. It costs £19 a month for up to 5 people, excluding tax, with the first month free.
Yes. In Omega Work the board and the timeline are two views of the same tasks: move a card to another column and its bar stays on the timeline with its dependencies; change a date on the Gantt chart and the card shows it.
