Trello alternative
A Trello alternative for when the board isn’t enough
Omega Work keeps the Kanban board that works so well in Trello, and adds what you need as projects grow: a list with columns, a timeline with dependencies, a calendar, dashboards, workload by person and portfolios. The same tasks, five ways to look at them. Priced per workspace: £19 a month for up to 5 people, £35 for up to 15.

In short
When teams look for a Trello alternative
Usually not because the board stops working, but because the work starts to have dates that can’t move, tasks waiting on other tasks, and people with too many cards. A board shows where everything is; it doesn’t tell you whether you’ll make the deadline.
- Same tasks, more views. In Omega Work a card on the board is also a row in the list, a bar on the timeline and a day on the calendar. Switch views and the data stays the same.
- Views are included. In Trello, calendar, timeline, table and dashboard views come with Premium (US$10 per person per month, billed annually). In Omega Work they’re in every plan.
- Workload. Who has too much on this week shows up on one page, before it turns into a delay.
- Rules without a run counter. “When a card moves to Done, mark it complete and post to the Slack channel”: Omega Work’s rules have no monthly cap, in any plan.
- What Trello has that Omega Work doesn’t: third-party Power-Ups and a free-forever plan. Omega Work has a one-month free trial, then it’s paid.

From Trello to Omega Work
Moving a board across
Trello lists become project sections — and so the columns on your board: you’ll find it just as you left it.
How to export
- In Trello, open the board › menu (the three dots) › “Print, export and share” › “Export as CSV”. CSV export is available on Premium and Enterprise.
- On Free or Standard, Trello exports JSON only: run it through a JSON-to-CSV converter, or copy the “Card Name”, “List Name”, “Due Date” and “Card Description” columns into a spreadsheet. Or send it to us and we’ll convert it.
- In Omega Work, open (or create) the project, then project menu › “Import from Excel or CSV…” and pick the file. You’ll see a preview — how many tasks, which new sections, which rows have a problem and why — and nothing is written until you click “Import”.
What comes across to Omega Work
- Every card name (“Card Name”)
- The list, which becomes a section and a board column (“List Name”)
- The due date (“Due Date”) and the description (“Card Description”)
- The card member, if there’s exactly one and they’re already in the workspace
What stays behind
- Comments, attachments and coloured labels
- Checklists: rewrite them as subtasks, which have their own assignee and due date
- Power-Ups and Butler rules: recreate them as Omega Work rules
Stuck with the JSON file?
Send us your Trello export from the contact page: we’ll convert it and tell you what came across and what didn’t.
Honestly
When it makes sense to stay with Trello
Trello is about as good as a board gets, and if a board is all you need there’s no reason to switch. Stay with Trello if:
- your work flows through stages without deadlines that depend on one another;
- you’re a small team and the free plan is enough (up to 10 collaborators per Workspace);
- you use specific Power-Ups you don’t want to replace, or the wider Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence).
Omega Work makes sense when dates matter: a timeline with dependencies, each person’s workload, a portfolio of a client’s projects. Things that on Trello need Premium or aren’t there at all.
Questions
What people ask us about this
What’s a good Trello alternative with Gantt charts?
Omega Work has a Kanban board like Trello, plus a timeline (Gantt chart) with dependencies and milestones, a calendar, dashboards and workload, all included in the price: £19 a month for up to 5 people, £35 for up to 15, excluding tax.
Does Trello have a Gantt view?
Trello has a Timeline view on the Premium plan (US$10 per person per month billed annually, according to the price list checked on 5 October 2026). Dependencies between cards aren’t a native board feature.
How do I export a board from Trello?
From the board menu, “Print, export and share”. CSV export is available on Premium and Enterprise; on other plans you export JSON, which can be converted into a spreadsheet. In Omega Work, upload the CSV with “Import from Excel or CSV…”.
Is Omega Work free like Trello?
No: there’s a one-month free trial with no credit card, then one price for the whole workspace. There’s no free-forever plan; in return, every feature is included in every plan.
