1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. Besides cookies, there are other ways of storing information on your device — such as the browser’s local storage — which the law treats in the same way. Both are listed here.
2. The cookies we use
They are all strictly necessary first-party cookies: they are set by the domain you are visiting, not by a third party.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Attributes |
|---|---|---|---|
| omega_session | Keeps you signed in and remembers which workspace you have open. It contains only a random identifier: our database stores a fingerprint of it, not the value itself. | 30 days | HttpOnly · Secure · SameSite=Lax |
| omega_impersonator | Appears only during a support intervention: it remembers the support person who started the temporary access, so they can return to their own session. It is created and removed with the intervention. | Length of the intervention (the access expires after 15 minutes; the cookie after 12 hours at most) | HttpOnly · Secure · SameSite=Lax |
| omega_locale | Remembers the language you chose before signing in. | Up to 12 months | SameSite=Lax |
| __Host-omw_embed | Only when Omega Work is embedded in another website by your organisation: keeps you signed in inside the embedded frame. | As set by your organisation, from 1 hour to 30 days | HttpOnly · Secure · SameSite=None · Partitioned |
| __Host-omw_frame | Only in embedded mode: a signed ticket stating which websites your organisation has allowed to display Omega Work. | 12 hours | HttpOnly · Secure · SameSite=None · Partitioned |
| __Host-omw_ui | Only in embedded mode: remembers the appearance chosen by your organisation for the embedded frame (colours, which panels are shown). | 30 days | HttpOnly · Secure · SameSite=None · Partitioned |
3. What we keep in local storage
This information is never sent to our servers: it stays in your browser so that you do not have to repeat choices you have already made.
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| work:theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. | Until you clear your browser data |
| work:sidebar-hidden, work:pane-width | Remember whether you collapsed the sidebar and how wide you made the task panel. | Until you clear your browser data |
| work:files-view, work:mytasks-files, work:goals-mode, work:goals-period | Remember the view you last chose on the Files, My tasks and Goals pages. | Until you clear your browser data |
| work:group:…, work:pf-zoom:… | Remember which groups you collapsed and the zoom level of each portfolio timeline. | Until you clear your browser data |
| work:inbox-density | Remembers how compact you want the list of the inbox to be. | Until you clear your browser data |
| omega_paese_listino | On the public pricing pages: remembers the country whose prices you chose to see. | Until you clear your browser data |
The application can also register a service worker in your browser: it keeps one small offline page in the browser’s cache (omega-work-v1) and, if you switch on browser notifications, the subscription your browser creates in order to receive them. Switching notifications off, or clearing the site data, removes them.
4. Content you add yourself
If your organisation embeds Omega Work in its own website, that website is governed by its own cookie policy: Omega Work adds only the cookies listed above. The same applies to links or content from other services that you paste into tasks and comments: if you open them, they are governed by the policies of those services.
5. How to delete them
You can delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings, in the section on privacy or site data. Bear in mind that deleting `omega_session` signs you out, and blocking necessary cookies altogether prevents you from signing in: without them we cannot recognise you from one page to the next.
